How to Get Taller

Although there a countless examples in history of shorter people who have made giant achievements, our society takes notice and makes judgments on a person by their physical height. So many shorter people are looking for information on how to get taller. It seems that whenever a famous person's height is revealed, (like a famous actor for example) it is like that individual owes us an apology or has to make up for it in some way. Or they accomplished there achievements in spite of how tall they were. For example, whenever Darren Sproles (the up-and-coming running back for the San Diego Chargers) makes a big play for his team, the sports announcer has remind us virtually every time that he is 5', 6". Now, although it is unusual for a football player to be that tall, it seems that he can't get his hands on the ball without his height being an issue. And this is made painfully aware to guys in the dating game. If you peruse the women-seeking-men personal ads in newspapers or the internet, a major criteria that comes up is that the guy has to be tall. Many women say that they don't want a short guy or that if he is short, he had better make up for it in some way. Once again, there are many examples of shorter guys that do great with the ladies but it is still an obstacle for many of them. So many men, instead of working on other easier to obtain attributes like personality for example, look for information on how to get taller. Some guys get the platform shoes. Others put lifts in their shoes while others look to books on how to grow taller. Some have taken dangerous hormones or even had painful surgery to alleviate this perceived problem. This goes to show the impact society can have on us as individuals. Society is very visual and it doesn't seem to like it when we accept ourselves for what we are and what we have. It makes perceptions and sets standards based on what it sees and demands that we do what it takes to meet those standards or accept the labels it puts on us. This is where the choice comes in. Many people throughout history have proven that height does not bar a person from reaching their goals in almost any endeavor but if shorter people could learn how to get taller, they would be seen for their accomplishments and nothing else.
